Nektary owocowe - to mieszaniny soku owocowego (ewentualnie i miąższu), wody i cukru (dodatek cukru jest minimalny i służy do zapewnienia optymalnej słodyczy wyrobów oraz uwypuklenia aromatu i smaku owoców). Należą do grupy napojów przecierowych, otrzymywanych z naturalnych niekonserwowanych kremogenów owocowych. Nie są sztucznie barwione i aromatyzowane oraz nie są utrwalane chemicznie. Zawartość soku owocowego w przypadku jabłek, gruszek i owoców cytrusowych powinna w nektarach przekraczać 50% w przypadku owoców tropikalnych, a w przypadku porzeczek i rokitnika - co najmniej 25 %. W sokach dietetycznych czy lekkich (light) sok owocowy rozcieńcza się wodą, zaś cukier zastępuje słodzikiem. Są źródłem wartościowych dla organizmu substancji odżywczych, takich jak sole mineralne oraz witamina C i ß-karoten.
